The October virtue of the month is responsibility. Simply put, responsibility is doing something when and how you are expected to. There are a few different ways that we talk about responsibility. These include being responsible, taking responsibility, acting responsibly, and having responsibilities. Being responsible leads to more trust and freedom because people know they can count on you to do the things you are expected to do. Being responsible can also be a big part of keeping you safe. As children show more responsibility, they develop more independence.
At EAEE, responsibility is fostered in many ways. Many of these ways are practiced through the daily routines and procedures of the school day. The children demonstrate responsibility in their participation in our morning assembly, through their work in each class and special subjects, and in the cafeteria. Responsibility goes hand in hand with September’s virtue of the month (self-discipline).
